This self portrait is another type of techniques with pencil strokes, blendings as well as erased effects used for the highlight by the artist.  

The background carries the effect of pencil technique's and eraser effects and his face shining with light and shade. And the pencil drawing shows that the artist was looking up. 

The same thing's going in our daily activities and in everything we do has we take a step to move forward in life.
